iPad Buying Gift Guide – Holiday 2020

This year, Apple announced many new products and refreshes, including a whole host of new iPads. With less than two weeks to go, choosing an amazing Christmas iPad for a close one is incredibly difficult, so I’ve summarised the 4 main iPads in Apple’s lineup.

iPad Air

This year has been a spectacular year for the iPad Air because it’s has been truly refreshed. The new all-screen design at $700/ £700 is perfect for someone heading into college or university. It’s also great for someone needing a high quality yet affordable note-taking device. It’s also compatible with the Smart Keyboard Folio and the Magic Keyboard, and with the 2nd Generation Apple Pencil.

The original

Apple also refreshed the iPad with the A12 Bionic and a few other minor upgrades. It’s also up to 40% faster and it’s perfect for kids needing the device to access the internet and play games. It’s also brilliant for those who need a device to read on or for watching films. Moreover, there’s also compatible with the 1st Generation Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard. It’s priced at $329/£329 for the WiFi model, and $459/£459 for the WiFi + Cellular.

The Mini

This year, Apple hasn’t updated the iPad Mini, but the 5th Generation iPad Mini is still excellent for $399/£399. It has similar specs to the new iPad, with the A12 Bionic and support for the 1st Generation Apple Pencil. It’s also more expensive, but it has a much better display and a much better front-facing camera; with recording in 1080p instead of 720p. It’s perfect for someone who wants a lightweight, high-quality device that also works perfectly for reading and watching videos.

Also, models have the A12Z Bionic model and the iPad Pro is compatible with a range of accessories; the Smart Keyboard Folio, Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil 2 . There’s also a brilliant camera system – including a 12MP wide camera and a 10MP ultra-wide camera, and all-new LiDAR sensor. It’s perfect for someone with going into University or college and needing an extremely good note taking device.
